Audiovisionen Carla Boregas + M.Takara

Coming from São Paulo, Brazil, currently based in Berlin, Carla Boregas and M.Takara have been playing as a duo since 2018. Together their music is the result of an interplay between drums and synths,blending Boregas’s aether and warmth electronics with Takara’s jazzy improvised percussion, somewhere between abstract improvisation and propulsive rhythm. An organic layering of manipulated synthesizers and acoustic sounds; teasing new rhythms from the drum kit via MIDI (a near-telekinetic bond between them).

Together they released two well praised albums, “Linha D'Água” (Bokeh Versions/UK and Desmonta/BR) and “Grande Massa D'Água” (Hive Mind Records/UK and Desmonta/BR), and played in festivals like Rewire (NL), Le Guess Who (NL), Copenhagen Jazz Festival (DK), UH Fest (HU), Atlantique Jazz Festival (FR) and Novas Frequências (BR).

Die Musik von Carla Boregas und M. Takara ist das Ergebnis eines Zusammenspiels von Schlagzeug und Synthesizern, bei dem sich Boregas’ ätherische und warme Elektronik mit Takaras jazziger, improvisierter Percussion verbindet – irgendwo zwischen abstrakter Improvisation und treibendem Rhythmus. Die Klanglandschaft, die sie präsentieren, ist real und lebendig, mal forsch, mal wunderschön, selten langweilig oder zwiespältig – eine organische Überlagerung aus bearbeiteten Synthesizerklängen und akustischen Klängen.
